About us:
Brace international,
Inc. founded in 1989 and located in Atlanta, Georgia USA is an industry
leader in innovative bracing products.
Until now our braces have been sold exclusively to health care
professionals. While our core business will remain with the sports
medicine specialist, we now make our more user-friendly products available
to the recreational athlete. Our braces, worn by world class athletes in many different
disciplines, continue to allow for a faster, safe and functional return to
activity. At Brace international we pride ourselves in a product line that
allows athletic trainers and health care professionals alike to spend more
time assessing and treating injuries rather than strapping and taping
athletes before games and practices. We
at Brace international believe athletic trainers are far more important in
their diagnostic and rehabilitative capacities.
The more time actually spent on treatment of injuries the better
off the athlete is. Unlike
many other manufacturers with “me too” products, our products are
extremely innovative and unique.
At Brace international, Inc. “our
season never ends.”

The
Max Shoulder Orthosis is a major advancement in the design of shoulder
girdle support. Designed to facilitate controlled range of motion,
this two pound snug-fitting brace is proven effective as a
functional orthosis with the added ability to support acromio-
clavicular separations. As a range of motion harness, the Max Brace
can be used for initial immobilization. However, controlled
mobilization can be begun at an earlier stage to minimize the
weakening of the musculotendinous unit caused by immobilization.
"Rehabilitation can be hastened by early motion, which limits
the consequences of inactivity." (J. Ciullo and B. Zarins;
Clinics and Sports Medicine", March 1983).
In
a 1988 study in Canada on major junior hockey players with
dislocating shoulders, every player who wore the brace did not
suffer a recurrence of his injury, whether the injury had been
conservatively or surgically managed (based on a minimum three year
follow-up). |

Evaluation of Shoulder Instability Braces
Mark DeCarlo, Kathy Malone, Brad Gerig, and Mike Hunker
Journal of Sport Rehabilitation, 1996, 5,143-150 to 1996 Human
Kinetics Publishers, Inc.
|
| The comparative abilities of three types of shoulder
orthoses to limit motion following isokinetic exercise were studied on
10 male subjects. Maximum active abduction, forward flexion, and
external rotation were measured under a control and three braced
conditions. Braced conditions included Sawa, Duke Wyre, and Shoulder
Subluxation Inhibitor. Subjects performed 10 repetitions each of
flexion/extension and abduction/adduction exercise at isokinetic
speeds of 120 and 180°/s. Data were analyzed using a paired t-test
and ANOVA. Significant differences were found for each of the devices
in pre/post goniometric measurements of forward shoulder flexion. Only
the Sawa brace demonstrated significant pre/post change for shoulder
abduction. No significant differences were detected in any of the
devices for external rotation. A trainer who is selecting a
motion-limiting shoulder device for an athlete returning to
competition following injury should consider the "loosening"
effect that may occur during activity as well as the desire for
overhead motion. |

when damaged from deep bruising.
|
|
The
easy-to-apply elastic wrap with hook and loop closures
simulates the properties of the already popular hip spica,
eliminating the need and expense of tape.
Further,
the vertical elastic strap provides vertical compression to
assist the thigh and hip flexors when applied in conjunction
with the elastic wrap.
The
Bar1
offers three critical benefits in the rehabilitative process.
-
Compression
and heat retention. The neoprene pant facilitates constant
pressure application to the affected muscle group.
-
Abduction
control. Unique elastic strap design creates effective
abduction control during acute phase of groin injury. Firm
support protects against further aggravation of the
injury.
-
Immediate
application. The comprehensive design of the brace permits
the injured athlete to gain an early start in the recovery
process.

the Fluk knee-strap
takes an
innovative approach to alleviating the pain of common knee injuries.
Ideal for injuries such as, but not limited to, Patellar Tendonitis,
Chondromalacia Patella, and Osgood Schlatter's Disease, the Fluk knee-strap
can
be worn by the patient without many of the problems common to other
knee straps on the market. |
|
COMFORT
The dual anchor attachment system
allows to apply the Fluk knee-strap comfortably around the leg so that no circulation is restricted.
Once this is accomplished, the strap can be tightly streched over
the area needing the most compression. That way the compression is
focused where it needs to be, without creating pressure all the way
around the leg. |
|
FUNCTION
Made of neoprene rubber with a
non-slip backing, the Fluk knee-strap provides soothing heat to the injured area. The moldable insert can
be positioned to apply pressure to the patellar tendon while also
improving tracking by lifting the knee cap. |
|
|
