The SAWA® Shoulder Orthosis is a major advancement in the design of shoulder girdle support. Designed to facilitate controlled range of motion, this two pound snug-fitting brace is proven effective as a functional orthosis with the added ability to support acromio- clavicular separations.

As a range of motion harness, the SAWA® Brace can be used for initial immobilization. However, controlled mobilization can be begun at an earlier stage to minimize the weakening of the musculotendinous unit caused by immobilization.
In a 1988 study in Canada on major junior hockey players with dislocating shoulders, every player who wore the brace did not suffer a recurrence of his injury, whether the injury had been conservatively or surgically managed (based on a minimum three year follow-up).
